Pay Per Click (PPC)
As Pay Per Click is a relatively new concept, many people still do not fully understand the meaning of the term or its huge potential for increasing online presence and driving volumes of traffic to websites.
PPC advertising is an internet advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content websites such as blogs, where a small advert is placed on the search results page for a specific keyword(s) and advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on an advertisement.
Advertisers pay nothing to appear on the results page and only pay the amount they have agreed to (or bid for) when someone actually clicks on their ad and is taken to the landing page on their website. The term "pay per click" means just what it says: the advertiser pays each time a visitor clicks on the ad.
Such ads are called sponsored links or sponsored ads, and appear adjacent to or above the "natural" or organic results on search engine results pages. Here at Clockwork, we successfully run monthly PPC campaigns for several of our top clients, where the return on investment makes for highly effective advertising practice and spend.
